Dr. Andrew Hodges

Dr. Hodges was born and raised in Prince George B.C.  As a young man he was a very active outdoorsman; fishing, hiking, and horse packing in the mountains with his father.  After Graduating with a BSc in biology from UNBC he moved to Saskatchewan and graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005.  He joined the Sylvan Lake Veterinary Clinic  in November 2012 after moving with his wife Dr. Sandy Jameson and his two young children from northern BC.

Dr. Hodges strongly believes in proactive preventative medicine.  He has a special interest in dentistry and is a member of the American Veterinary Dental Society, a group for general practitioners with an interest in dentistry.  He is very excited to be in central Alberta and looks forward to exploring all the new areas to camp and hike.

Dr. Sandy Jameson

Dr. Jameson grew up in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta.  She has always had a love for animals and enjoyed many pet cats as a young child and finally convinced her parents to buy her a horse at 12 years of age.  Shortly after, she became involved in the local pony club and developed an interest in 3-Day Eventing.

This passion for animals lead her to decide on the path to veterinary medicine.  She began volunteering while in high school and after graduating high school, she achieved a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Zoology at the University of Calgary.  After completing this degree, Sandy moved to Saskatoon and graduated from Vet School in 2005.

After graduating, she spent one year doing an internship at Caledon Equine Hospital in Ontario.  Then settled in Dawson Creek with her husband, Dr. Andrew Hodges.  After several years of mixed practice, Sandy and Andrew’s first child Sarah was born (2009) followed by their son, Travis (2011).  This led to several years of ‘practice’ as Dr. Mom.

Sandy is happy to be back in Central Alberta and excited to practice veterinary medicine at the Sylvan Lake Veterinary Clinic.

Dr. Morgan Wiese

Dr. Wiese was raised in Ponoka, Alberta on a small hobby farm. As a kid she spent majority of her time playing with her labrador retrievers, three cats, and many horses. When it came time to plan for post-secondary, veterinary medicine seemed like a natural choice, as it combined many of her passions including science, health care, and animals. She studied Physiology & Pharmacology at the University of Saskatchewan for two years, prior to being accepted to the Western College of Western Medicine in Saskatoon.

She graduated in 2020, and then returned to central Alberta, close to where she was raised. As a new graduate she practiced rural mixed animal medicine for a couple of years and enjoyed all the variety and learning that it brought. In 2022 she began as a locum at various clinics all over Alberta, spending time doing emergency medicine, general practice, and shelter medicine. She was excited to start here at Sylvan Lake Veterinary Clinic in April of 2024.

She enjoys all aspects of her job, and creatures big and small, however surgery, dentistry, and feline medicine are particular areas of interest. Outside of work she loves to spend time with her lovely husband, her sassy cat Stella, and her energetic golden retriever Revy. You can find them doing anything outdoors, such as hiking, running, skiing, travelling, and horseback riding (except for Stella, she is more of a homebody)!

Dr. Babette Baskerville

Dr. Baskerville was born and raised in Winnipeg, MB. After completing her Bachelor of Science at University of Winnipeg, she graduated from vet school at WCVM in Saskatoon in 1992. From there she practiced small animal medicine & surgery in Edmonton for 2 years before moving to Rimbey. After 20 years in Rimbey, she began locum work in the central Alberta area which has led to her part time position at the Sylvan Lake Vet Clinic. She currently resides in Sylvan Lake with her pug Lilly and French Bulldog Perry. She is also a home based travel agent in her spare time and loves to go to the gym.
